January is National Just Read More Novels Month...

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

...Meaning you read as many books as you can in January.

i know its only the 7th day today, but since the first 5 were part of the relaxing and nothing-else-to-do holidays, i did read quite a bit already. Also, i have this strange habit of having to read something when i'm eating at home in India, so got a lotta reading done during all 3 meals of the day
The challenge being you read as many (only) novels as you can in these 31 days. All the rules are here
This is my probable reading list for January (yes, slow month this, nothing else to do) so i think i shall go for the Gold badge with 10+ reads

1. The God of Small Things: Arundhati Roy
2. The 5 people you meet in Heaven: Mitch Albom
3. The Navigator: Clive Cussler
4. The Lord of the Rings (Fellowship of the Ring) : J.R.R. Tolkien
5. A Fine Balance - Rohinton Mistry
6. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
7. New Moon - Stephenie Meyer
8. Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
9. Breaking Dawn - Stephenie Meyer
10. Midnight Sun - Stephenie Meyer
11. Jacquot and the Angel - Martin O'Brien
12. False Impression - Jeffrey Archer
13. The Hobbit (Or There and Back Again) : J. R. R. Tolkien
14. Treasure : Clive Cussler (read half)
15. The Treasure of Khan: Clive Cussler (read half)

I'm not sure if I would call anything by Mitch Albom a novel, but I'm not that familiar with that particular book, which is why I leave it to individuals to make the calls.

What really impresses me is that you are going to go for the gold badge (ten novels) by reading The Lord of the Rings. That is really ambitious. I wish you well and let us know how you do.

i was wondering whether Mitch Albom qualifies as a novel myself.
I think i might be pushing it with LOTR, but i've been dying to read these for ages now and i finally have my hands on them..calling in sick so i can cosy up and enjoy these sounds like a good plan to me right now
