Other books I've read this year - Part I
Friday, June 12, 2009
These are my one line reviews for the so-so books i've read so far. These aren't intellectual books people, no special review is required. But then, i'm also real bored at work today, so i figured a 1-2 line word on them should be good. Hey, all the frantic typing does make it look like i'm real busy at work.
This still doesn't include the Dark Hunter Series and the Carpathians, and some other good books i've read, but i figure i'll write up another post just for them.
Tasting Candy - Anne Rainey (Rating: 2 /5)
114 pages
Blade Vaughn looks at Candy and wants her. Candy is man-shy after a horrid past. After an encounter in the gym gets her in panic mode Blade, who obviously saw everything, turns up at her place to find out what the deal is and then eventually, as expected, they end up in bed.
Touching Lace - Anne Rainey (Rating: 2/5)
95 pages
Lacey has just been cheated on, and she runs to her good friend Nick, who has been in love with her since forever. She thinks somethings wrong with her. Smart man that he is, he tells her he'll help her get better in bed, you know, sex classes and all that. And then after all the mattress classes, eventually they get together - i didn't mean physically, although they did that too, i meant as a couple.
Dirty Deeds - Lorelei James (rating: 2 / 5)
268 pages
Tate has come to some small town to sell her aunts house. She needs to fix it up before that and figures sex lessons are a good way to pay for them. Nathan doesn't want to do the only physical thing anymore, he wants the emotional closeness and all the jazz as well. There's a lot more to the story, and it actually wasn't a bad read, but now i'm tired of typing.
Mistress Christmas (Wild West Boys #1) - Lorelei James (Rating: 1/5)
85 pages
This was just plain bad. That's all.
Surrender (Book 1, Bound Hearts) - Lora Leigh (Rating: 2 / 5)
63 pages
Book blurb says: Cole has wanted Tess for years. And he's warned her of this several times. He's also warned her HOW he wants her. Tied down in his bed, under his domination, surrendering to his desires...
Submission (Book 2, Bound Hearts) - Lora Leigh (Rating 2 /5 )
83 pages
Same like Surrender, only different names of people. Mostly.
Overheard (Book 2, Unspoken Series) - Maya Banks (Rating 2 /5)
87 pages
Love me still - Maya Banks (Rating 1 /5 )
63 pages
Book Blurb: Believing their mate betrayed them and was responsible for their father’s death, Cael and Riyu cut Heather from their lives. But when they realize their terrible mistake, can they ever gain her forgiveness and win back her love?
My review: Eh?
Brazen (Brazen Series, #1) - Maya Banks (Rating 2 /5)
260 pages
2 brothers save Jasmine from selling herself when she was 16 and take care of her and now she wants them both. Some parts of the book were quite moving.
Colters' Woman - Maya Banks (Rating 2 /5)
272 pages
3 brothers find a woman unconscious near their place and decide she's the one for them. She running away from a scary husband, and they help her and then they're all together. Something like that.
There's also a short story called Colter's Wife after this one, which is basically Holly giving birth to their kid, but i cant find anything on Goodreads for this one to link it to.
Love's Strategy (Brothers in Arms, #3) - Samantha Kane (Rating: 1.5 / 5)

Illicit Attraction - Zena Wynn (Rating: 1.5 / 5)
Photo Opportunity - Jess Dee (Rating: 2.5 / 5)
90 pages
I quite liked this one. Daniel knows his best friend will never consider him anything more than a friend so he plans a whole seduction - which is real funny. And Amy is just plain stupid. But then a lotta people are. I''m going off tangent here...what i meant was, this is a nice book.
